Empowering renters to claim their rights and stay housed.
About our services work
The Canadian Centre for Housing Rights (CCHR) provides free, individualized services to renters in Ontario who are facing challenges in their housing.
We offer the following two service programs.
Our caseworkers work to empower renters by:
- Providing legal information and resources – including self-advocacy guides – to help them address discrimination in their home.
- Negotiating on their behalf with property owners and managers in situations of housing discrimination to help them obtain, keep and enjoy their housing.
We provide free, individualized services to renters in Ontario who are facing challenges in their housing.
